BACCHUS
Canada
For over 20 years, BACCHUS Canada has worked with post-secondary
campuses
across the country to promote responsible consumption of alcohol and
informed
decision-making. BACCHUS Canada provides
member schools with resources and
programming materials to create alcohol & health education campaigns
on
their campuses.
NSAIDD - National Students Against Impaired and Distracted Driving is
dedicated to helping schools across the country in every
province and territory collaborate together to develop a national day of
action.
By having hundreds of schools launch their own programs,
events, activities, contests, etc. on a single day, we will be able to
attract national (or even international) attention to our cause. Let’s
work together to save the lives of Canadian on the road!
Info4Parents.ca - This is a service that utilizes technology and the internet to provide parents with important strategies, information and discussion opportunities to help them empower their children to make proactive, positive and healthy choices. We will accomplish this by developing a multi-faceted collection of insight and expert advice from various student life and parenting professionals from across the country.
Sex Trivia - Our
partnership with The Society of Obstetricians and
Gynaecologists of Canada (SOCG) has allowed us to develop a sex trivia internet-based game that serves as a resource
for Canadian campuses on sex issues and reinforces positive choices. This service is currently accessible to BACCHUS Canada members by logging in above.
Community Outreach - The Student Life Education Company regularly participates in health fairs, alcohol awareness days, and orientation week events on campuses across Canada by setting up activities, games, trivia and give-aways around promoting positive choices. For example, last year we attended a University of Calgary orientation week event with our Here's To My Choice campaign, participated in the Student Life Expo, Canada's largest post-secondary fair, and held a 4-necker t-shirt give-away contest promoting 'friends helping friends' at Humber College's Vacation from Intoxication alcohol awareness days event.
Annual Golf Tournament - Every year The Student Life Education Company thanks all of its closest sponsors and partners by hosting a golf tournament. Last year we hosted our 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the picturesque Glen Eagle Golf Course.
DrinQ Peer Alcohol Educators - The Student Life Education Company partnered up with Queen's University Student Affairs: Health, Counseling, and Disability Services to develop an innovative new peer alcohol educator program. Currently in its pilot stage, this peer educator program takes an opinion leader and peer influencer approach by targeting the students who are already having a strong influence on their peers choices to disseminate proactive and healthy messages.
